We are fortunate to have a really great Amish pumpkin patch a few miles from our house. It’s out in the middle of nowhere on a country road. The pumpkin stand isn’t even manned by human workers. You just pick your pumpkins and slide the cash into a lockbox. I love that we live in a location where the honor system works because people are mostly honest.

The prices at the pumpkin patch are dirt cheap. Where else can you find large pumpkins for only $1 each?

The little pumpkins are 3/$1 or 4/$1. These tiny Jack-Be-Littles were perfect for our DIY Dipped Pumpkins project.

Miss Chatterbox and I were able to get everything shown in our van for only $10.

You will have to watch the video below to see how we achieved the marbling effect on these tiny DIY Dipped Pumpkins. If you’ve already watched our DIY Dipped Deer Skull Mount video, you will notice the process is nearly identical except we use spray paint when dipping the deer skulls. MissChatterbox and I both agreed, the spray paint is actually easier to work with, and had we been dipping large pumpkins, the spray paint would have been necessary because it would have taken too much nail polish to cover a big pumpkin.

We also thought this project would be even more amazing if we had added glitter after dipping each pumpkin. Aren’t all craft projects better with glitter?

  1. That is awesome! Makes me wish I had a place to do that stuff. My condo association would lose their minds if I did that outside. 🙂 Great idea!

    1. There are many reasons my family would not survive more than a week with a condo or homeowners’ association. Probably the 3D archery range in our yard is the first one . . .
