This Best Ever Fruit Dip is a family favorite for us. It’s something we’ve taken many times for team meals, church carry-ins, and family cookouts. Kids love it. Adults love it. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love this dip. There might be a person out there like that, but if there is, I’m not sure I want to know that person. Just kidding.
This easy fruit dip recipe is perfect for summer gatherings by the pool or at the beach. It packs easily in a cooler. But don’t forget the wipes for sticky hands!
What makes this dip the Best Ever Fruit Dip? It’s stupidly simple to make.
Just 3 ingredients in this easy Fruit Dip recipe!
- 1 pkg. cream cheese (softened)
- 1 container marshmallow cream
- 2-3 spoonfuls caramel
Seriously, that’s it. Just mix everything with a mixer. There are no complicated instructions about zesting an orange peel into it or adding some fancy ingredient that’s only carried in specialty grocery stores. You don’t need to boil anything. You don’t even need to microwave anything (unless you forget to put your cream cheese out ahead of time to soften). It’s hard to believe something that tastes so good can even be that simple. My 11-year-old made this batch.
Here’s a secret. This Best Ever Fruit Dip isn’t just fantastic with fruit. It’s also a great dip for pretzels. The sweet and salty combination is incredible.
And another secret – you don’t even need the caramel. I don’t always remember to pick up caramel. The caramel we used this time was the caramel for dipping apples. That’s often only available during the harvest time. If you can’t find the thick caramel in the tub sold for apples, you can substitute the caramel sold as a sundae topping. You might need a bit more of that because it’s not as thick. If you don’t have caramel at all, just omit the caramel. This is still an amazing dip with just the cream cheese and marshmallow cream.
When we travel, to save on costs, we usually have breakfast and either lunch or dinner in the hotel/condo. This Best Ever Fruit Dip is one of the special items the kids always ask me to bring on every trip. We always bring it to Pigeon Forge with us in the Spring.

Best Ever Fruit Dip is also a great addition to any special event. This is way better than any of those prepackaged fruit dips that come in the prepared deli fruit trays. You will want to serve this Best Ever Fruit Dip at your next birthday party, baby shower, or open house.
The only real problem with this Best Ever Fruit Dip is sometimes people in my house want to eat it from the container with a spoon instead of dipping the much healthier fruit in it. It does not go very far when consumed like that. If I make this for a special event, I often have to make two batches to prevent my children from causing it to all disappear before I can take it to the event.
Cream cheese can be expensive. That’s why I always stock up when Aldi runs it for 79 cents here. If they run that sale around holidays, I’ll just buy an entire cardboard tray of it because I make so many different dips and cheeseballs. It’s a huge savings over buying it at $1.99 per package which is generally the Walmart price here.
Doesn’t this dip look so much fancier in the tiny, glass bowl? I bought those at Dollar Tree. They came as a pack of four for $1. We use them all the time to make simple condiments like ketchup look fancy.

If you don’t already grow your own tomatoes and Basil, I highly recommend you start. You can grow them in large flower pots if you don’t have the land for a garden.

I love this dip!!! I am one that would eat it with a spoon – I actually have! I have never tried using caramel though – will have to try that because I LOVE caramel!
Everyone here eats it with a spoon too! I always have to make two batches.
