We adapted this recipe from one found at The Soccer Mom Blog. She has lots of other great slime recipes on her site! We doubled her recipe for each batch of ours.
Incredible Edible Slime
- 1/2 cup pudding mix (one 3.4oz box)
- 2 cups cornstarch
- 2/3 cup water
We used one box of pistachio pudding and one box of vanilla, but you could use any flavor. We had planned to add food coloring to the vanilla, but someone (or a couple of someones) at The House That Never Slumbers had used every drop of food coloring in the house making slime over the summer.
Any guesses which residents that might be?
We really wanted to try strawberry pudding, but it was not on the shelf in any of the stores we searched locally. Apparently, it’s only available by ordering online. We think it would smell great and be an awesome color for this Incredible Edible Slime.

Got glue? If you want to make other types of slime, you need lots of glue. Fortunately, Amazon sells glue by the gallon for around $12. A tip from the slime-making experts – it seems like you get a lot more value from the gallon jug of glue because it’s difficult to get all of it out of the small school glue containers. You end up wasting half the glue that’s stuck in the bottom.
Slime is seriously the best. My kiddo LOVES to play in it. I need a less messy version hahaha
Let me know if you find the less messy version!
How fun. I bet that smells so good!
It does! Especially the pistachio surprisingly.
