Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cups Instructions:

Prepare pudding according to instructions on the package using an electric mixer. Then add the entire container of whipped topping and continue mixing.

Crush about 3/4 of the bag of chocolate animal crackers into crumbs. We use chocolate animal crackers because they are inexpensive, but you could use Oreos if you prefer those. The animal crackers also make crumbs that look more like real dirt.

We just put the cookies/crackers in a zipper bag and crush them with a coffee mug. You could use a food processor, but we don’t like to have to wash a food processor.

Stir half the chocolate cookie crumbs into the pudding mixture. Set aside the other half to be the “dirt.”

Fill each snack cup about 2/3 of the way full with the pudding mixture. Then sprinkle the cookie crumb “dirt” on top of each. Add the desired number of pumpkin candies to the top of each Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cup.

I tried using small mason jars for these as well, and those looked cute too.

A Fun Treat for Fall Gatherings

These Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cups are a great addition to any fall gathering. You can make them for October or November birthday parties. You can bring them to harvest gatherings or class parties. The first time I made these was for a church hayride many years ago. Everyone loves them!

Candy apples have always intimidated me until I read this post. They look absolutely beautiful in candy stores, but I never believed I could make them myself. These instructions make them so easy!

Sunday evening we had several fun outdoor activities planned for our church youth group. I made these Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cups for the kids to have after the lesson and games. We had the amazing opportunity to try several outdoor toys that Goliath Games sent us, and you can read all about that in Goliath Games Brings Big Fun to Church Youth Group.

  1. What a fun little snack idea, and it’s perfect for fall! I need to make these. My son would get a kick out of them. Plus any excuse to eat more pudding is a good one.

    1. Thank you! We’re glad you stopped by. You can do a lot of fun variations on these Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cups too. You can use graham crackers and vanilla pudding to make them like sand with one of those little drink umbrellas, or you can use the same chocolate pudding and chocolate cookie crumbs recipe with gummi worms when it’s summer instead of fall.
